'Maiko' are young apprentice geisha who work hard to complete their training. That kind of elegance and beauty is not easy to achieve!
This lovely wooden bento box is in the traditional 'magewappa' oval shape with a delicate Japanese scene in dark blue, pink and gold on the lid. The kimono-clad 'maiko' sets a contemplative scene as she stands on a bridge overlooking boughs of pink sakura blossom.
The light-coloured cedar wood boxes are individually hand made in a traditional way with a light lacquer coating that allows the wood to breathe.
Each bento box comes with a wooden divider for separating food portions and an elastic strap for holding it closed in your lunch bag.
A wooden bento box is especially good for keeping your rice tasting good until lunchtime! Because it is individually made from natural products, each one is slightly different and there may be imperfections in the materials.
Please note that this is a natural wood product which can be washed by hand using normal dishwashing detergent. Rinse with hot water, wipe with a cloth and allow it to dry naturally.
