In hanakotoba, the Japanese language of flowers, the dahlia symbolises good taste and elegance.  And this pretty teacup, with its dahlia flower design will definitely reflect well on the owner!

In clean pale blue and white with a bright red dot in the centre of each flower, this traditional style Japanese teacup has a light, refreshing look.  In smooth ceramic, the dahlia motif on the inside and outside of the cup has a textured finish and is slightly embossed.

The curved sides make it easy to hold and drink from and, as well as being good for hot tea, this pretty cup also makes a charming sake cup.

The painted decoration on each teacup is finished by hand and therefore may differ from cup to cup and from the images shown.

Holds about 130ml.

Fine Hasami-ware porcelain, made in Japan.
