Send your wishes off on the summer breeze and relax to the gentle sound of a Japanese bell.
Japanese wind chimes are known as 'furin' and are hung near open windows and doors to provide a cooling, soothing sound in the hot summer weather. The soft tinkling sound will help you forget the heat and find space to relax!
The blue and white Japanese 'Arabesque' design of this Arita-ware ceramic wind chime makes it an attractive home accessory all year round, but especially in the spring and summer when you can feel the breeze from open windows and doors.
Inside the bell hangs a ceramic clapper, or 'zetsu', and below that hangs a paper tab called a 'tanzaku'.
The tanzaku catches the breeze and pulls the clapper inside to sound the bell. Whilst decorative, the tanzaku provided with this wind chime shows information about the product! Traditionally, you should make your own and write your personal wishes or message - especially good if you're giving it as a gift.
The wind chime is suspended from black nylon cord and the zetsu and tanzaku are also held in place with black cord.
It comes packaged in a smart blue box, making it great for gifting.
The bell of the wind chime measures 6cm high by 7.3cm in diameter. This ceramic wind chime is fairly light weight, however please ensure you use a secure fixing to hang it safely.
