From beautiful cranes to mischievous demons, Japanese folklore is full of funny, scary and thought provoking tales. As we watch the year go by, these charming illustrations bring some of Japan's much-loved traditional stories to life.
The pages of this lovely Japanese desk calendar feature 12 scenes inspired by Japanese folk tales.
The colourful illustrations combine collage and layered details, giving the pictures a charming three-dimensional, handcrafted appearance, while the changing scenes follow the seasons throughout the year.
Apart from the numbers, the information on the calendar is written in Japanese script with the main Japanese holidays and notable dates marked in red.
Made from high quality Japanese paper, the calendar is bound with a metal spiral and folds out to become free standing. It measures around 18.5cm (7¼") tall by 12.8cm (about 5") across and opens out to about 6cm (2¼") at the base.
Made in Japan.
