Face-coverings are commonplace right now, both to protect yourself and others. When in crowded spaces, it's polite to wear a face-mask to show consideration to those around you but it can also help to protect you from catching nasties like colds or 'flu.
In Japan, masks are also worn to help guard against hayfever and air pollution.
These handmade Japanese-style masks have been made with three layers: Two patterned outerlayers of 100% cotton with a third layer in between of lovely soft organic cotton voile.
They have been carefully pleated so that they can be pulled over your mouth and nose and the elastic has been particularly chosen for softness and comfort over your ears.
This mask comes in a blue colour featuring a pretty Japanese bell design.
Every care has been taken to make and store the masks hygienically but I would recommend washing each one before wearing in case you have sensitive skin.
Washing Instructions
Wash with your normal clothes washing at 30° or 40°C.
Pull into shape while wet and, when dry, use a hot iron to restore the pleats.
Do not iron the elastic.
