Onigiri make a great snack at lunchtime! It's a ball of sticky rice, sometimes wrapped in nori seaweed and usually with a delicious filling. These ones contain umeboshi, a salty pickled plum - the red and white looks like the Japanese flag, don't you think?
This wooden bento box, a traditional Japanese lunchbox, is handmade and hand decorated with a dark coloured lacquer and painted lid. It comes with a removable divider and elasticated band to hold it closed in your lunch bag.
A wooden bento box is especially good for keeping your rice tasting good until lunchtime! Because it is individually made from natural products, each one is slightly different and there may be imperfections in the materials.
Please note that this is a natural wood product which must be washed by hand. Please don't put it in the dishwasher or microwave oven.
You can clean the bento box using normal dishwashing detergent. Rinse with hot water, drain and allow it to dry naturally out of direct sunlight.
