Hydrangeas originated in Japan and have come to symbolise heartfelt emotion and gratitude. They can be seen all over Japan in the Summer and look beautiful in the rainy season.
These cup covers are such a small frivolous thing but, in their three pretty colours, they can bring a little of that floral beauty into the home! The design features a cluster of hydrangea petals with a clear acrylic removeable 'diamond' on top.
The silicone cover will keep hot drinks warm for longer and keep bugs and foreign objects out of your cup or glass when sitting outdoors.
I wondered about the right word for the colour of this particular one and came up with 'eau de nil' as being the most descriptive. Not quite green but not cream or off-white.
In any case, with its slight translucence, what prettier way could you find to protect your drink while out in the garden!
Note: When you push the silicone lid down over your cup or glass you will get a pretty good airtight seal. Release the seal by lifting the side of the cover. DO NOT pull the diamond as it will certainly come off (it's intentionally removeable for washing up), moreover there is a risk you will spill your drink which may be hot.
