Samurai Crest Sake Cup Set

£22.00 each
6 in stock

The Oda and Akechi families were powerful forces in 16th century Japan.  But these two warring Samurai clans can come together here to drink sake!

The story of two individuals in particular, Oda Nobunaga and Akechi Mitsuhide, is not for the faint hearted, filled as it is with violence, blood and betrayal.  The story was retold recently in the popular Japanese TV historical drama "Kirin ga Kuru", leading to this commemorative set.

The Oda and Akechi family crests appear on this set of two traditional fine ceramic sake cups, Oda on the left and the simpler Akechi crest on the right (in most of the pictures shown).

The two sake cups feature the crests in gold on smooth white ceramic with the traditional blue 'snake eye' pattern on the inside.

The two cups are presented on a display stand made from polished coconut wood, a sustainable hard wood, and the cups and stand come in a stylish black gift box.

All together, this set makes a cool conversation piece and an elegant way to share a cup of sake with a friend - or maybe even your rival!

Each cup holds about 100ml and measures 6.2cm diameter x 5.5cm tall.

The display stand measures 15.7cm long x 7.6cm wide x 1.5cm high.
