The gentle sound of a tumbling mountain stream can't fail to make you feel fresh and cool on a muggy day.
Wind chimes have become a much loved part of summer-time culture in Japan and their gentle sound provides a relaxing and cooling backdrop to hot and humid days.
This glass wind chime, or furin in Japanese, has a light blue colour with a white swirl creating the impression of a bubbling mountain stream. Each one is hand crafted including the crystal glass clapper, or zetsu, inside the bell.
Below the bell, attached to the zetsu, hangs the tanzaku tab. This decorative tab is made from high quality paper which is blank on one side with the company name and logo printed on the other. The tab is not removable but you could write a message on the blank side if you wished.
This Japanese wind chime comes in a pretty pale grey box making it ideal for gifting.
Based in the Aomori region of Japan, Tsugaru Vidro specialises in charming and colourful glassware, created by artisans, that reflects the seasons and natural world.
The glass bell measures about 6.5cm (about 2½") high by 6.3cm (2½") in diameter.
The paper tanzaku tab that hangs below the wind chime measures 18cm (just over 7") by 4.5cm (1¾").
