Chatter and laughter are far from trivial! Sharing news, gossip and of course tea with friends helps us relax and build relationships.
But this Japanese cup shouldn't just be kept for tea. Its larger size make it great for serving hot and cold drinks such as tea and coffee and it's also good for water, minerals, sake, wine and spirits.
It has a simple rustic style, beautiful rounded shape and a solid feel that's good to hold. A smooth wash of dark navy blue glaze covers the inside surface and top half of the cup with the unglazed earthenware pottery visible on the bottom half.
The soft natural tones have an informal, under-stated look perfect for a relaxed setting.
The cup is about 7.5 cm (3") tall with a diameter of 9 cm (about 3½"). It holds around 260ml (about 9 fl. oz).
