Made from ABS resin, there are no metal blades in this marvelous kitchen utensil. The sturdy rollers grip the toasted nori sheet and simply turn the handle to produce fine strips that are just right for garnishing everything from chirashizushi to zaru soba.
The plastic utensil comes apart, making it easy and hygienic to rinse up after use.
How to use the nori shredder:
- Wash and rinse the shredder before use, allow to air dry and reassemble.
- Cut your nori sheet in half (for longer strips) or quarters (for shorter strips).
- Place the shredder on a chopping board or kitchen surface with the narrow slot facing up.
- Turn the handle of the shredder through 180° anticlockwise so that it sticks out from the body of the shredder.
- Feed the nori into the top of the shredder and turn the handle clockwise so that it grips the nori seaweed.
- Holding the shredder in both hands, continue to turn the handle and you will soon see shreds of crispy nori appear through the bottom of the shredder.
